Amazing! That describes the time spent during the Chicago childbirth educator workshop.

This bunch of women are purely authentic and give of themselves to help women in their local communities.

As we closed the workshop I can still hear their voices and one in particular…her closing statement, “Birth is a kinda of freedom. And I believe all woman deserve to be free!!!” I keep hearing these words over and over. They have stayed with me the last few days.

I think because they perfectly describe all that birth can and should be. Not that birth is not challenging, but when experienced fully it is a kind of freedom! Something that is completely yours alone, an amazing accomplishment…

Risks are Imperative!

Yes, you must take that leap of faith!

If you are living a life that is not fulfilling, and you feel like you cannot afford to take a risk for change, consider the risk in not changing. Think about all the time you are spending not being happy?

If you are falling short of living your dreams then are you really living? What is the cost of not being happy?

Really, make a list of the costs in your life of not taking risks. Consider how being stuck or less than content influences:

Relationships
Habits
Appearance
Health
Energy
Natural life span

Each day you awake is yours to enjoy and embrace. You are free to choose and live differently…fully!

Don’t risk not living as you really desire.

Doula Workshop Update

The Fall Doula Workshop just began on October 28, and it was so much fun!

After leading workshops that are bigger groups, we decided to hold a weeknight training session for Doula’s so that we can focus teaching one on one. It is fantastic to really get to know those attending. Especially, since doula work is very intimate and one on one.

The Doula’s in training were pleasantly surprised to have the instructors personal attention. So if you are in the Sacramento area, you really have a fantastic opportunity to take a small intimate doula workshop. The next four week session begins January 6, 2011, 6-10 pm. Space is limited so register soon!

Submit certification materials within one year of enrolling in the program

By attending our August 28 & 29, 2010 workshop you will be fast tracked to receive your Birth Yoga Educator certification. Everything is included in the workshop registration fee. No other membership, program, or test fees are required for certification.

(However, you must purchase your own books and DVD’s)

The requirement to observe 4 hours of a childbirth class will be waived.

The current and back journal issues can be found at the ICEA website. Check it out, contribute, and become a member of ICEA.

@ Birth Educator Workshop

The Childbirth Educator Training Workshops have exceeded expectations during the first quarter of 2010. See just how great the participation can be during our time together.

We had participants travel from as far away as Lagos, Nigeria. The two days always goes fast and is so much fun. We hope to see you at the next workshop.

Labor Support Skills

We have partnered with Childbirth Professional Development Group to offer a one day workshop that will increase profieiency of labor support skills and non-pharmacological pain management techniques in nurses, midwives, physicians, and other perinatal professionals.

This workshop will offer practical skills to use in the care of a pregnant or laboring patient. Participants will also learn how to implement evidence-based patient centered care.

Approved by both ICEA (International Childbirth Education Association) for 7 contact hours, and the California Board of Registered Nursing for 8 contact hours.

The first workshop begins on February 27, 2010 in Sacramento, California. Space is limited.
